A skeletal piece of driftwood reaches up from an Algonquin lake, its bleached, twisting form doubled perfectly in the mirror-still water below. Autumn colour blazes along the far shore, but the eye keeps returning to this quiet centerpiece — half sculpture, half ghost, caught in that rare moment when the water is calm enough to hold a perfect reflection. A study in stillness, and in the strange beauty of what’s left behind.
