A companion study to the first, this piece revisits the same northern vantage point along the Mackenzie River with a different arrangement of towering cumulus clouds rolling across the sky. The black spruce treeline and low, distant hills ground the composition, while calm water mirrors the sky’s shifting light. Together, these studies capture Chris’s fascination with the sheer scale and ever-changing atmosphere of the North — observations drawn from our 2006 road trip through the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Alaska, and later developed into his larger finished canvas, “Aerial Leviathan, MacKenzie River
