About the artist

Jim Byrne

American painter. Bryne earned his B.A. in painting from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and his MFA in studio art from the UNC Chapel Hill. His first solo exhibition was at the Tew Gallery, Atlanta, Georgia in 1990. He has exhibited at many galleries all over the US, and has been featured in publications such as Art in America magazine, ArtPapers and The New York Times. Byrne currently teaches painting and drawing at Suffolk Community College in Selden, New York.
