American painter, illustrator, sculptor and video-artist. Works address subjects relevant to the American experience of race, place and power. Known for abstract yet representational works that highlight how hierarchical relations and social stereotypes shape individuals, institutions, and the material and mental landscapes of contemporary life. Works can be found in Whitney Museum of American Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Zimmerli Museum of Art, and Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, etc.
