Klaus Böttger (also spelt 'Klaus Boettger') studied art history in Mainz until 1969, as well as art education, philosophy and biology. His specialty was etching, and finely crafted portraits and erotic nudes dominate his work. His work has been shown in a variety of national and international exhibitions. Boettger’s drawings, paintings, and original prints have been exhibited at institutions in Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Munich, Berlin, Mannheim, Strasburg, Madrid and elsewhere.
Bottger is included in the following public collections: Neue Sammlungen, Munich, Kunsthalle, Hamburg, Gutenbergmuseum, Mainz, Stadtische Kunsthalle, Mannheim, Kupferstich Kabinett, Berlin, The Albertina, Vienna, Bibliotheques Nationales, Paris, Andersen Museum, Odense, Denmark, and the Denver Art Museum, Colorado.
