"Extremely expressive, tactilely rich and gestural post-war work by Paul Ackerman from the turn of the 1950s and 1960s. The vertical composition represents a top example of Parisian post-war lyrical abstraction and tachism within the framework of the École de Paris. Here, the author masterfully abandons any geometric rigor and builds space using a predatory explosion of colored matter and admittedly, pasty brush and spatula strokes in a combined technique on paper. The color palette is dominated by a dark, dramatic indigo blue and black center, from which contrasting flashes of bright white, ochre yellow and earthy red emerge. The work stands out for its enormous dynamics, inner restlessness and refined play with the structure and relief of the applied layers. The work represents the author's creative peak, when he exhibited with international success in Paris, Zurich and New York. Signed by the author at the bottom right."

„Mimořádně expresivní, hmatově bohatá a gestická poválečná práce Paula Ackermana z přelomu 50. a 60. let 20. století. Vertikální kompozice představuje špičkovou ukázku pařížské poválečné lyrické abstrakce a tachismu v rámci École de Paris. Autor zde mistrovsky opouští jakoukoliv geometrickou přísnost a buduje prostor pomocí dravé exploze barevné hmoty a přiznaných, pastózních tahů štětce a špachtle v kombinované technice na papíře. Barevné paletě dominuje temný, dramatický indigově modrý a černý střed, z něhož vyvěrají kontrastní záblesky zářivě bílé, okrově žluté a zemitě červené barvy. Práce vyniká obrovskou dynamikou, vnitřním neklidem a rafinovanou hrou se strukturou a reliéfem nanášených vrstev. Dílo reprezentuje autorův tvůrčí vrchol, kdy s mezinárodním úspěchem vystavoval v Paříži, Curychu či New Yorku. Signováno autorem vpravo dole.“
