Výjev zachycuje venkovskou sklizeň (pravděpodobně česání ovoce či vinobraní), kde ústřední postava stojí na žebříku opřeném o košatý strom, doprovázena dalšími postavami při sběru. Autor zde mistrovsky využívá transparentnosti akvarelových nánosů. Dominantní blankytně modré tóny oblohy a vzdáleného říčního horizontu dramaticky kontrastují s temnou zelení vegetace a zemitými okry v popředí.
