1.09 MOUNTAIN MESSAGE/Shore. By combining the strength and iconic mass found in Wilson’s painting of a mountain, with the equally powerful image of a surging ocean breaking on shore found in Patel’s photograph, the result is an awsome depiction of the monumental forces found in nature. The stillness and massiveness of the mountain acts as a counter punch to the movement and liquid power of the sea. The reorientation of the photograph to match the height of the mountain image places them both on an equal stature.
