7.02 PHANTOM LIMBS /Tee Tree In this piece the artists combined a small section of a Sumi-Ink/ watercolor entitled Phantom Limbs, with a photograph of a lone tree on the edge of a golf course. The watercolor imagery, when placed in this way, completes the form of the massive trunk in a gestural manner. The mass of the tree appears to levitate and the open sky balances the weight of the massive tree. Transparencies found in the watercolor complete the branches of the tree and a full landscape is observable. FORE!
