Where the light is, 2024

oil on canvas

100 x 120 cm (39.37 x 47.24 in)

English
Within a dimly lit interior, a hanging lamp casts a gentle glow onto a winding garden path beyond the window. The contrast between inside and outside, darkness and illumination, creates a threshold between reality and imagination.
The light does not reveal a clear destination. Rather, it represents a quiet sense of faith—the willingness to move toward the unknown despite uncertainty. The path disappears beyond view, its destination unseen, yet the presence of light allows it to continue unfolding.
The work speaks to the experiences of waiting and searching that often accompany life. In a constantly shifting world, what matters may not be finding an immediate way out, but preserving a space in which one can pause, feel, and continue to believe. Light therefore becomes more than illumination; it becomes an inner state—a force that encourages us to keep moving forward.

Deutsch
