The Sky Carries Teeth is a triptych mixed media work built from acrylic on canvas with glass centered on the sweeping form of a Japanese air dragon moving across all three panels. The dragon coils through the composition in flowing blue teal white fluorescent pink and fluorescent green creating a sense of flight motion and living energy suspended in open space. The elongated body curves from panel to panel giving the piece both elegance and tension. Rather than a grounded creature this dragon feels airborne and elemental carried by the sky itself. The glass adds physical edge to the work sharpening the form and giving the surface a fractured dangerous beauty that supports the title. The Sky Carries Teeth balances grace and threat. The dragon’s movement is fluid and almost celestial but the title reminds the viewer that this beauty has force behind it. The triptych format allows the figure to fully stretch out making the piece feel larger more alive and impossible to contain on a single canvas.
