"Cave Point Harbor" is a captivating piece that invites viewers into a serene lakeside retreat. The art measures 9 x 12 inches and is meticulously crafted using colored pencils on blue colored paper. This choice of medium allows for a vivid interplay of colors, bringing to life the tranquil beauty of the scene.

The composition features a clear, azure body of water that forms the heart of this picturesque landscape. It is flanked by lush green trees and dense vegetation, creating a natural frame that draws the eye into the center. The verdant trees, accented with rich hues of green and brown, add layers of depth and texture. In the foreground, a rugged, rocky shoreline dotted with tree roots and scattered leaves introduces a tactile quality, enhancing the sensory experience of the piece.

In the background, viewers can lose themselves in the dense forestation and the mesmerizing, reflective surface of the water. The play of light and color throughout the artwork suggests a calm and peaceful setting, evoking a deep sense of tranquility and an appreciation for the natural world.

The inspiration for "Cave Point Harbor" stems from the artist's visit to the area, where the stunning interplay of greens and blues against the stark grey and black rocks of Lake Michigan resonated deeply. The scene captured is a slice of paradise, embodying the fresh air, the gentle rustling of cedar trees in the summer breeze, and the soothing sound of waves gently crashing on the shore. Through this detailed and evocative depiction, viewers are transported to a natural haven where they can almost feel the elements at play.
