Hamssa Hossam is an Egyptian visual Alexandrian artist, took her bachelor’s degree in painting and design from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University, in 2024 excellent with honors. Participated in many group exhibitions:

My artistic practice draws its inspiration from the rural Egyptian environment, which I
often reimagine through surreal compositions. I focus on the historical period of
British occupation in Egypt, where rural life carried silent layers of struggle —
especially for women.
Through my work, I explore how Egyptian women in that era faced emotional and
social pressure, restrictions, and subtle forms of violence that were never spoken about
directly. By placing these realities within surreal scenes, I reinterpret the hidden
psychological impact of harassment, bullying, and oppression—both past and present.
My artworks aim to highlight the resilience of women and how personal and
Collective memory continues to shape our understanding of violence today
