About the artist

Yu Cheng

Yu Cheng holds an MFA in Studio Art and post-baccalaureate certificate in Studio Art, both from Tufts University (MA) as well as a BS in Drawing from Harbin Normal University (China.) Her work has been exhibited at galleries and museums in the United States including Alpha Gallery, the New Art Center, the ICA-Boston and more. She is the recipient of an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant, a Massachusetts Cultural Council grant and has served as an artist-in-residence at the Scattergood-Moore residency program. In 2025, she received a commendation from the Governor of Massachusetts: a prestigious citation for artistic contribution for her continued artistic excellence.
