Born in 1955 in Needham Massachusetts, Tad Wiley is a versatile artist who makes paintings, sculptures, and work on paper. Wiley studied at Saint Lawrence University from 1974-1976, and at the State University of New York, College of Art and Design from 1976-1978, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting. His paintings demonstrates high abstraction and geometric complexity. Through colors, layering, and geometric shapes, Wiley paints in a minimal yet tridimensional way.

The work of Wiley has been exhibited across the United States, in major art institutions such as George Lawson Gallery, Lang & O’Hara Gallery, Aljira Center for Contemporary Art, and Parrish Art Museum. Wiley is also the recipient of the Pollock/ Krasner Foundation grant and the Edward Albee Foundation Fellowship. His work is represented in public, private, and corporate collections worldwide.
