About the artist

Sermin Kardestuncer

Turkish-American

Turkish-American artist. Kardestuncer recieved her BFA from the University of Connecticut, Storrs and her MA from New York University. Her style recalls female Minimalists of the 1950s and 1960s with an added integration of nuanced materials and organic processes such as stitching, 3D elements, and painting. She has exhibited in various institutions including The Bronx Museum of the Arts, MoMA/PS1, and the Davidson Visual Arts Center.
