About the artist

Eddy Galllimore Mumma

American

1908-1986

American painter. Born in 1908, Mumma never received formal training in the arts and did not find painting until the age of 60. However, ‘Mr. Eddy,’ as he came to be known, loved painting and quickly covered every surface he could touch. His work is simplistic, yet highly evocative. Mr. Eddy refused to ever exhibit his work and was never consumed by the public until after his death in 1986. Mr. Eddy is highly respected and included within the American folk-art canon.
