About the artist

Frank Vincent DuMond

American

1865-1951

American impressionist painter and illustrator. Dumond studied at the Art Students League in New York in the 1880s and later became a professor at this institution. Dumond illustrated for publications such as the New York Daily Graphic, Century, and Harper's Weekly. Dumond later moved out of New York City to Lyme and Woodstock, and his work subsquently became lighter, more pastoral, and landscape-based.
