About the artist

Irwin Hollander

American

1927-2018

American printmaker. Specialized in abstract lithographs and persuaded many Abstract Expressionist painters to also try their hand at lithography including Willem de Kooning and Robert Motherwell. Started off as a commercial lithographer, but later participated in the revival of fine art printing. Known for skill in inking printing surfaces and a variety of black and white prints.
