About the artist

Peter Blake

British

b. 1932

A British Pop Artist. His work draws on imagery of popular culture, and his colorful, graphic style has placed him on album covers such as that of the Beatles' "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club". He was awarded the title of 'Commander of the Most Excellent Order' of the British Empire in 1983 and Knighthood in 2002 for his services to the visual arts.
