About the artist

Virginia Ingram

American

1929-2015

American book designer and illustrator. Ingram earned her BA at Women's College (now UNC-Greensboro) and pursued her MFA in printmaking at UNCG. As an active member of the Winston-Salem arts, Ingram was also a founding member of the Five Winston-Salem Printmakers as well as a co-founder of Messagemakers, a design and publications company. In 2004, she was selected the Sawtooth school's Artist of the Year. Ingram's works are inspired by themes of nature and she renders her compositions in abstraction.
