About the artist

Sylvia Plimack Mangold

American

b. 1938

American painter, printmaker, and pastelist. Sylvia studied at Yale University in the late 1960s. Her work represents the Minimalist movement. She is known for representational depictions of interiors and landscapes, with a stong focus originally on wood floors and tape measures, and later towards landscapes, specifically the portrayal of trees.
