About the artist

Alex Prager

American

b. 1979

American photographer and filmmaker. Based in Los Angeles. Her work draws from influences like popular culture, Hollywood, and street photography in which she adds elements of surrealism. In this way she creates ambiguous narratives that merge the past and present, as well as fiction and reality. She also explores themes like the highly constructed works of modern media. Her work has been exhibited all over the world as well as in publications like Vogue and The New York Times Magazine. She has won numerous photography awards and her film series "Touch of Evil" won an Emmy in 2012.
