About the artist

Glenn Ligon

American

b. 1960

American artist. He received a BA from Wesleyan Univeristy and attended the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program. He is widely known for his conceptual, text-based paintings, prints, and sculptures. Ligon explores concepts surrounding race and sexuality in America. His work has been exhibited across America and around the world.
