About the artist

Chester Michalik

American

b. 1935

American photographer. Michalik received a BS from the Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA from Boston University. He has taught at Smith College and the Rhode Island School of Design. His photography projects in the most recent years have focused on contemporary urban Japan. In addition, he has worked on projects in Holyoke, MA, Las Vegas, Poland, and military air shows as propaganda. He works mostly in industrial settings and is focused on his own personal interpretations of subjects.
