Pessene

“Pessene” Pessene is a rural place between Maputo and Ressano Garcia in Mozambique where I spent the first 11 years of life. Pessene is at the heart of my soul. The experiences lived there to a great extent defined my personhood. As such, these artworks express themes of identity, memory, time and space, youth, discovery, nature, Africa, life and death. These paintings are part of an ongoing series of multi-media works.
