Sam Wisnom is one of Tucson's best known western artists. He was hired right out of art school as an illustrator for Cooper Studio in New York, but by 1966 the call of the West was too strong and he moved to Tucson to pursue a fine art career. He is known for his work in both painting and sculpture.
