Why do I paint so many barns? The simple answer is because I love them. Each one unique. Som many different configurations of buildings, houses, silos, and farmyards. But also, every one a story that resonates deeply within. To be a farmer is special. It takes such dedication, hard work, skill and perseverance. Yet it is also often taken for granted. What would this country be without its farmers?
And Vermont, where I live, has its identity wrapped up in its farms, cows dotting the landscape, fields offering fantastic views. As a painter, farms provide an endless source of material. They are rewarding to paint. Visiting them can be almost spiritual.
This farm is actually names Lamoille Farm. It sits on the Lamoille River in Cambridge Vermont. I used a drone to get the vantage point of looking down onto the farm tucked just off the banks of the river, and providing a better view of the fields and hills behind the farm.
