About the artist
Ann Brownlee Hobgood
"I have been involved in various arts all of my life. For many years I owned my own business creating designs for the needlework industry. I have taught art in public schools and colleges and designed large commercial interiors in North Carolina and New York. After retiring in 2006, I began making art using recycled materials, mostly figurative assemblages. My work has been included in numerous juried shows including Scrapel Hill, Art on the Vine, Art in the Heart of Hillsborough, Somerhill Gallery, Fine and Folk Art Carolina, and Hillsborough Arts Council Gallery. Recently, my work was selected to be included at the American Folk Art Museum in NYC and a short documentary was made about me by PBS." ~ Ann Brownlee Hobgood
