When librarians, Mr. and Mrs. Turner, had there first child, they couldn’t resist naming her, Paige (Paige Turner!). From the time she could walk, Paige loved books and going to the library. I captured her here as a 7 year old on library day. She has gathered her books and her kitten in her favorite chair. Her body is made from 3 metal containers which support her paper mache apple head. I used curved pieces of wood from a broken bentwood chair for arms and legs. Paige always insisted upon wearing a very old, stained cap (enameled and rusted metal teapot lid).
