Dean Burton studied photography at the University of Arizona’s Center for Creative Photography and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from San Jose State University. He is a photography instructor at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada. Burton is known for rotating his square format photographs and presenting them as diamond shapes.

Burton has held many solo exhibitions, and his work is in the permanent collections of the Nevada Museum of Art, the Crocker Art Museum, the Kansas City Art Institute, and others.
