The spiritual influences and dream-like qualities add a layer of mysticism to my work, giving it an almost narrative quality inviting the viewer to engage in a kind of visual storytelling. Here is some info regarding this piece: "Jabberwocky" is an actual nonsense poem written by the English author and mathematician Lewis Carroll about the killing of a creature named "the Jabberwock". It was included in his 1871 novel Through the Looking-Glass, the sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The book tells of Alice's adventures within the back-to-front world of the Looking-Glass world and can be construed as we sometimes feel living in today’s world: Some days are nonsensical and seemingly turned upside down. This Jabberwok, however, always brings a sense of calm and good luck. He’s a very cool chick.
