My goal is to create a color pulse and sense of vibration that moves the viewers eye through my images. Compared to cubism by some, I work to make each shape and layer of color equally interesting within my paintings whether it be in the foreground or background. Both positive and negative space are intentionally treated with equal care to enhance the balance within my compositions. I utilize light and shadow to create warmth, dynamicism, and to place emphasis on the subject matter. This helps to enhance the mood, idea, and story being told within the work. It is my goal to continue to grow in my craft and enhance my visual palette; ensuring that what I am attempting to portray and say within my work is clear and relatable to the observer. This piece connects with the theme as it represents an intentional change or shift in the direction of my work. That recent change was creating all of my compositions from my imagination as opposed to utilizing physical visual references. This evolution has been very freeing for my creative process and opened up my practice to new windows and avenues.
