I am a watercolor artist based in New York City. In my work, I explore the beauty of landscapes inspired by the places in which I have lived. What fascinates me about painting landscapes is the creation of a sense of space - capturing depth, airiness and light.
At a deeper level, through my artwork I explore the intersection of the ancient and the emergent. To me, an old stone wall is a monument to endurance and stability. I use the rugged weight of stone to represent our need for constancy, while the surrounding landscape serves as a testament to nature’s capacity for growth, change and movement.
In this way, I aim to capture a cycle of continual rebirth, where even the most solid foundations are made more beautiful by the fresh breath of new life.
I have studied with the award-winning American watercolor artist Frederick Brosen. Additionally, I have also attended art classes and workshops at the Art Students’ League of New York.
I also learn a great deal by drawing and painting copies of select Old Masters’ Paintings - these are notable works that have stood out over centuries, originally created by the trendsetters in the history of art.
I am a member of the Art Students’ League of New York, the Salmagundi Club of New York and the American Artists Professional League.
