The Shattered Series is an invitation to find beauty in vulnerability and to trust the forces of change. The fragmentation isn't about breaking down—it's about making way for the new. A visual reminder of the internal strength we all carry.

In this series I explore the complex intersection of vulnerability and resilience through solitary figures of women on desolate shores. These paintings—the dramatic setting, raging waves mirroring inner turmoil, a full moon casting an ethereal yet stark light, and the women's expressions - evoke a sense of profound isolation and sorrow.

The women's dresses, cracked and breaking, serve as a central metaphor for the fragmentation of self. It speaks to moments in life where we feel fractured, wounded, and seemingly irreparable. Yet even in this state of brokenness, there is an undeniable presence, a quiet strength. These women stand, and though the elements around them are chaotic, they persist.

The Shattered Series does not depict defeat; rather, they are a testament to the enduring nature of the human spirit. It is in these moments of deepest despair that we often confront our capacity for resilience. The desolate beauty of these scenes, while stark, also hold a strange allure, suggesting that even in our brokenness there is a haunting beauty and a potential for transformation.

These paintings invite the viewer to contemplate their own experiences with loss, pain, and the difficult journey towards healing and wholeness.
