Sheryl Brake is an award-winning watercolor artist whose work invites viewers to slow down, look closer, and discover the stories hidden in ordinary things. Working in luminous realism, she is drawn to overlooked subjects, weathered objects, vintage neon signs, still lifes, and places touched by time, finding beauty and meaning in details that often go unnoticed.
Through careful observation and layered watercolor techniques, Sheryl creates paintings that celebrate curiosity, story, and connection. Her work has been juried into numerous exhibitions, including Colorado Watercolor Society State Shows and Lincoln Gallery's regional and national fine art exhibitions. Recent honors include First Place in Watercolor at the 2026 Lincoln Gallery Regional Fine Art Show, Second Place in Watercolor at the 2026 Lincoln Gallery National Fine Art Show, and First Place in Watercolor at the 2024 Lincoln Gallery Regional Fine Art Show.
Represented by Lincoln Gallery in Loveland, Colorado, Sheryl is a Signature Member of the Colorado Watercolor Society and a member of Women in Watercolor and the North American Watercolor Society. Her current work, including the Neon Americana series, explores the character, history, and quiet beauty found in everyday objects and overlooked places.
