Born in NJ, Sheryl Hibbs spent much of her early years on the east coast. She has lived from Maine to Florida and places in between. She began private art lessons at the age of 8 when a teacher recommended to her parents that she should pursue art.
When her parents moved to Jacksonville, Florida she continued in art classes. She not only took art classes in High School but attended group classes in the evening.
Sheryl graduated from Florida State University with a BS degree in Interior Design and a minor in Marketing. She again enrolled in many art classes at FSU but did not pursue a degree in Art.
She met her husband, who was a Naval Aviator, and began a journey that took them from Maine to Florida and eventually to a permanent home outside of Memphis, TN. While raising their 2 sons, Sheryl developed an Art business painting murals and faux finishing interiors. Eventually, as her sons were growing up, she bought an art gallery with studio space. She enjoyed the gallery very much but recognized that it kept her from following her true love-painting.
Sheryl now paints full time and is represented by 3 galleries.
