After working as a self taught artist selling my work online, I attended the Ottawa School Of Art to study studio arts full time. My studio is at The Rectory Art House, part of Saint Brigid's Centre for the Arts, in the historic Byward Market area of Ottawa. You can find my work locally through Gallery Annexe in the Ottawa Art Gallery, and by appointment at my studio. My work is in the City of Ottawa fine art collection and in private collections around the world.
The portrayal of the human face and form has always been my vehicle of expression. My current work is created in a modern expressionist style. The use of bold line, colour and pattern quietly echoes the confusion, chaos and uncertainty I see in the world today.
A fellow artist once wrote of my work, ‘her people have stories to tell. But they can’t find the right words. I get the feeling her characters might be great at interpretive dance or expressionist painting. With a world of experience in their eyes. But they never seem entirely comfortable with the viewer. That edge is what makes her images so compelling. So full.”
