My favorite resource for art supplies isn’t an art supply store or catalog but the hardware or building materials store. For many years, I have made constructions using fencing wire and sheet aluminum and more recently, I have begun to use a variety of materials ranging from plastic gutter to roofing shingles. I enjoy taking the mass produced materials designed for a very specific purpose and transforming them through simple applications into beautiful objects. If the works are successful the materials transcend their utilitarian purposes and move into the realm of art.

The subject of my work is the development of space, texture, and a tight unity. I try to provide a visual setting for the individual viewer to play out their fantasy. I prefer not to reveal too much. The most common reference for my work is architecture.

Post Modern Bouquet is very architectural in structure and reference. Part of this comes by way of the materials and part by the type of structure that the materials most naturally work into. I also have a strong feeling about the spaces we live and work in and this theme is often the subject of my dreams.
