Sarah Von Dreele is the former creative director of Onethread Design, Inc., a New York-based corporate and consumer brand design consultancy, which she founded in 2003. Upon launching her eponymous brand of wallcoverings in 2019, Sarah’s hand-painted aesthetic quickly gained traction in the interior design field, garnering attention from designers and publications internationally. What began as a simple creative exercise at the end of the day quickly evolved into a collection of surface designs, painted exclusively in gouache. The abstracted floral and geometric forms are ethereal and calm, lending themselves to a variety of applications for the curated home.
Upon her debut at ICFF 2019, Sarah was named a “trend-setting designer” by Interior Design Magazine, and one of Architectural Digest PRO’s “21 Favorite furnishings” from the show. In both 2019 and 2021, Sarah Von Dreele was named an Interior Design Magazine Best of Year Awards finalist for her eponymous line of wallcoverings and fabrics. Both of her most recent wallpaper and fabric collections were also named as finalists for the 2021 NYCxDesign Awards in Residential Wallcovering and Residential Fabrics.
Sarah Von Dreele wallpapers, fabrics and original art are available to the trade through her showroom representation across the country. Additionally, Sarah continues to develop consumer home accessories and limited edition art for CB2.
Sarah received a BFA in Graphic Design from Rhode Island School of Design in 1997. Between overseeing her growing product collections, painting what she sees, and keeping up with her fifth-grader, she patiently pursues her interest in learning the French language.
Sarah welcomes commissions, partnerships, and collaborations which extend the hand-painted designs to bespoke interiors and consumer products.
