Sally Moluf Hoss was born in Nebraska where she later received a BFA in Studio Art. At the university, she enjoyed printmaking, drawing, and painting. Her thesis artwork is a collection of large colored ink drawings. After her thesis exhibit, she explored drawing with colored pencils and other drawing materials. A few years later, she was diving into painting.

Today, she creates drawings and paintings. Forms and shapes from nature inspire her abstract painting style. She has many influences including Susan Rothenberg, Karen Kunc, Magdalena Abakanowicz, and Arshile Gorky.
