Suspensions is an ongoing body of dimensional, wall-mounted artworks that explores the expansiveness of present moments through a softened gaze and subtle shift of focus. Composed of hand-painted, laser-cut plexiglass and wood suspended above painted or prepared grounds on stainless steel pins, each piece creates layered relationships between figure and field, light and shadow, solidity and motion.

The initial works within this broader structure reconstruct blurred or peripheral glimpses as fully articulated, dimensional experiences of light, presence, and color—holding space for the luminous not-yet.

Intricately cut and progressively stacked, these dimensional works on paper and plywood explore transformation through repetition, variation, and sequence. Beginning with a simple form—a circle, a waveform, a teardrop—each design evolves through a digitally guided process of subtle change. Each layer represents a discrete moment in that unfolding, cut from a separate sheet and assembled into a single, cohesive whole.

Like tree rings or geological strata, the final structures offer a visible history of their own becoming. Light and shadow give shape to the layered progression, revealing complexity through accumulation and form.

These works distill complexity into clarity through precise cutting and thoughtful composition. Informed by the traditions of Jewish papercutting and Islamic geometry, with an eye toward contemporary design, each piece is cut by hand or laser from a single sheet—or occasionally a shallow stack—of paper.

Negative space and silhouette carry the structure, creating compositions that are at once intricate and restrained, visually compelling and culturally grounded.
