Robin Griffin, professionally known as Bobbie Bonita, is a Pittsburgh-based abstract mixed media artist whose work explores the relationship between color, emotion, memory, and human connection. Through intuitive abstraction, she creates contemplative spaces that encourage viewers to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with the present moment.
Working primarily with alcohol inks, acrylics, mixed media, and resin, Robin embraces movement, spontaneity, and layered storytelling. Her evolving body of work, Emotional Alchemy, explores transformation through color, inspired by mindfulness, symbolism, surrealism, and the emotional resonance of color field painting. Influenced by Mark Rothko, her paintings investigate how color, light, and atmosphere can evoke memory, stillness, wonder, and emotional connection without relying on representation.
Beyond the studio, Robin believes art has the power to build community. She creates immersive experiences through exhibitions, live painting, murals, workshops, and collaborative events that make creativity approachable and restorative. Her background in hospitality and special events informs her passion for designing unforgettable spaces where people feel seen, connected, and inspired.
Robin's work has been exhibited throughout the Pittsburgh region, including Catapult Gallery and Manos Gallery. She is a member of the Pittsburgh Society of Artists and the Create! Collective, an alumna of Entrepreneurs Forever, and a participant in the Catapult Entrepreneurship Cohort. Through Bobbie Bonita Art, she continues to develop collections that invite curiosity, presence, and meaningful conversation while pursuing collaborations with galleries, designers, hospitality spaces, and community organizations.
