Encaustic

14 x 11 in (35.56 x 27.94 cm)

Divine Connection II, by Rita Adams, is an evocative encaustic art piece that draws inspiration from the biblical story of Jacob’s dream, where a ladder descends from heaven to earth. Adams reinterprets this vision with a unique, contemporary twist. The radiant angel poised gracefully amidst a sea of clouds is holding two ladders, suggesting the dynamic between give and receive.
The use of encaustic techniques—a method involving heated beeswax mixed with colored pigments—imbues the piece with a rich texture and depth, enhancing the surrounding atmosphere, and offering a modern, artistic interpretation of an ancient, timeless vision.
