Patsy’s obvious artistic talent lay dormant until her early 60’s when she became laser-focused on pursuing this much-loved, but undeveloped and rarely-used, gift.

At 63, she flew across the country to attend a four-day workshop, coming home with her first serious painting – a portrait of her granddaughter -- and less than two years later, Patsy was awarded an Honorable Mention in an international exhibit for her portrait,  “In Daddy’s Safe Grip.”

She continues to garner awards for her beautiful works, most of which are painted in the rich pastel medium -- pure pigment held together with just enough binder to form usable sticks that look like chalk.
