Among the Petals a White Serpent is a stunning hand-cut paper artwork, crafted with meticulous attention to detail using vibrant washi and intricately patterned chiyogami papers. This contemporary piece honors the Chinese/Japanese Year of the Snake, featuring the white Japanese rat snake—a revered emblem of good luck in the new year.
Surrounded by delicate ume plum blossoms symbolizing spring's rebirth, it communicates renewal and transformation. The layered technique brings texture and depth, inviting viewers to explore the dynamic interplay between the serpent and its surroundings.
Beyond its visual beauty, Among the Petals a White Serpent delves into the concept of an unseen energy linking every element in the natural world. This theme reflects Patrick’s ongoing exploration of interconnectedness, emphasizing the invisible bonds that unite the entirety of nature.
Ideal for collectors (and snake lovers), this piece is a vibrant celebration of life’s cycles, luck, and the profound connections that surround us all. Whether displayed at home or in a gallery, it offers both aesthetic delight and contemplative depth, making it a meaningful addition to any art collection.
