The rolling hills fade in the foggy distance, dotted with the crimson caps of this whimsical mushroom forest. Huddled together under one of the larger Red-Caps, a group of mysterious travelers wait out the weather. Lest you relax too much, be assured these fungi hold the most deadly of poisons.

Meticulously hand-cut and layered from Japanese washi and chiyogami papers, "Red Caps" explores the world that exists beyond our limited ability to observe our environment. It touches on themes of companionship, family, and our oft-times tenuous relationship with nature. At once both vibrant and calming, this piece balances aesthetic beauty with intriguing concepts into an artwork that rewards introspection.
