Patricia Kelley is a fine artist working in watercolor. With her imaginative “Modern Perspective” series she hopes to show the beauty of life, our planet, and the need to cherish it, by using a positive message. For this series she creates engaging landscapes that draw you in to take a closer look and to examine socially important issues.
Growing up on Long Island, NY, she was inspired by the beautiful sandy beaches and exciting New York city. She has recently moved to another beautiful island in Washington State with her two lovely daughters.
Patricia received a Certificate in Interior Design from the New York Institute of Technology, where her studies included Drafting and Perspective Drawing. She is also Certified in Basic AutoCad. This became an essential foundation for her creative blending of realistic and whimsical styles.
She has been a member of Art Groups such as Women Sharing Art and Of Colors, a Creative Collective. Patricia had a Solo Art Show “Dreams” at Artspace, Patchogue, NY. Has participated in many art exhibitions including: Baffa Gallery~ Sayville, NY, Phoenix Gallery~ Bellport, NY, Borghese Vineyard~ Cutchogue, NY, Meadow Croft Estate~ Sayville, NY and Brookhaven Town Hall~ Brookhaven, NY. She was a judge for the Juried Art Show~ Congressional Art Competition for High School students for several years.
She taught private watercolor classes for beginners students, including beginners classes for special needs students. She has also taught several Paint and Sip classes. She was delighted to see that there was more painting going on than sipping. Through her work as a Decorator and Giftware Buyer at Bayport Flower Houses’s, she was able to use her artistic talent and imagination to create enchanting displays to delight shoppers.
Patricia now lives in Oak Harbor, Washington with her daughters and sweet little dog Rosie. Her new surroundings are full of inspiration, with the amazing trees, mountains views and being surrounded by water. Also the opportunity to see incredible creatures such as Orcas and Whales.
Continuing with her “Modern Perspective” series the fourth painting will explore the importance of protecting our oceans, and the marine life that calls it home.
