About Pamela
Artist Pamela Gene Miller is a contemporary nature-based abstract painter.
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Pamela grew up with the tragedy of losing both her parents early in life. This loss helped develop her passion for emotional expression through drawing and painting and a deep dedication to her artistic talent.
Pamela received a scholarship and BFA in Fine Arts - Painting from Washington University in St. Louis. She moved to San Francisco and was hired as an artist to develop multimedia software, leading to a career in technology. She worked for Macromedia (Adobe), Apple, and co-founded Orange Design, a boutique design and animation studio, creating websites, games and animations for many notable clients, including LucasArts, Pixar and Disney.
During the 2020 pandemic, Pamela decided to follow her true passion and took leave from her work in technology. She moved to rural Sonoma County in the San Francisco Bay Area where she paints in a large converted garden shed on five spacious acres.
She explores the energy and forces in nature - growth, decay and rebirth - and translates that energy into mixed-media acrylic paintings on paper and canvas. Central to everything in her work is a sense of freedom, abundance, beauty and love.
Pamela’s work has been exhibited at Saffron + Poe Design Gallery, Five 3 Gallery in Laguna Beach, the Burlingame Mansion, and Richmond Marina in California, and the Steinberg Gallery in St. Louis, MO.
