Robert Mangold moved to Colorado after receiving his Master of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University in 1960, and is currently Professor Emeritis at Metropolitan State College of Denver. He has experimented with kinetics and an emotive (wind-powered) sculpture in his studio for over 3 5 years, and received the Grand Prize Award at the 6th Henry Moore Grand Prize Exhibition in Japan in 1989. ( He has exhibited widely in the American southwest, and is represented in corporate and private collections in South America, Mexico, Japan and the United States. As an educator, he has shared his understanding, insight and passion with many students over the years and serves as an example of life-long commitment to exacting scholarship, artistic discipline and an understanding of man's primal relationship with nature and its eternal cycles. "If I could say with words what I'm trying to say with my work, I would not need to create it," he says.
